What Are Lumineers?

Lumineers are simply a brand of porcelain veneers and they aren't a great deal different from other brands. They're made from a newer type of high-strength porcelain that enables the veneers to be made ultra-thin. There are several brands that are made from this newer, stronger type of porcelain, including DURAthin, Lumineers, and Nano. The different brands may have slightly different optical properties.

One drawback of the Lumineers brand is that, because of the trademark restrictions on the product placed by the manufacturer, they have to be made in the Den-Mat Laboratory in Santa Maria California. This reduces the options the cosmetic dentist has in creating a beautiful, customized smile for the patient. Other brands don't have these restrictions.
